About La Grange

 

The town of LaGrange is located in the Mid Hudson Valley and is approximately 40 square miles.  The population at the 2000 census was approximately 15,000. The town was named after the ancestral estate of the Marquis de Lafayette.

LaGrange is serviced by the Arlington Central School District.   Students from LaGrange attend Arlington High School, LaGrange Middle School, Titusville Intermediate School, Overlook Primary School, LaGrange Elementary School or Noxon Road Elementary School.

 

James Baird State Park is located in LaGrange.  The park is named after James Baird whose construction company erected the Lincoln Memorial.  Mr. Baird donated the land for the park in 1939.  The park has hiking trails, picnic tables, sports fields and a playground.

 

The town of LaGrange has an active sports program including baseball, soccer and a swim team. 

 

There is a summer concert series sponsored by the town at Freedom Park.

 

Many residents of the Mid Hudson Valley, LaGrange included, follow the minor league baseball team, the Hudson Valley Renegades.  The team plays at Dutchess Stadium located on Route 9D in Wappingers.

 

LaGrange is convenient to both Route 9 and the Taconic State Parkway giving residents easy access to the major shopping along Route 9 and an easy trip to Westchester and New York City.
