About Hopewell Junction

Hopewell Junction, a hamlet in Dutchess County New York, is the ideal suburban paradise that its name implies.  Located within the town of East Fishkill, Hopewell Junction’s origins lie as a railroad junction where the Newburg, Dutchess and Connecticut line met with that from New York and New England.

There are just over three thousand residents and less than one thousand households that make up the community and these residents are becoming progressively more affluent as the years go by.  In 2000, the average household income was $15,000 less than it is today, rising from approximately $61,000 to $76,000 per year.  This is over $20,000 higher than the state average per household.

The hamlet is only sixty miles from America’s largest city, New York City and all that it has to offer as far as business and entertainment opportunities.  With its extremely convenient location on the railway line, it is a perfect bedroom community for those who wish to reap the opportunities of the nearby metropolis while still coming home to a safe and peaceful place to raise their family.

While this serene home location may seem like it is far off from modern infrastructure, it is only about ten miles from three full service health facilities and thirteen miles from the much larger community of Poughkeepsie, New York.

The school system is also high quality.  The local high school, John Jay Senior High School can boast of having an above average number of students graduating with distinction from its institution over that of the state average.  There is also a higher average of these graduates choosing to attend full four-year postgraduate studies.

While the median home cost is significantly above the state average, there is good reason that these marvelous properties will continue to rise in value as the radius of those commuting into the larger urban centers in the Tri-State area continues to grow.  These properties are considered some of the best investments a young family could make when choosing the perfect location to settle down and raise their family.
